The Judith Lynn Band Organ is a fully automated, mechanically driven musical instrument featuring multiple ranks of tuned pipes, percussion effects, and traditional organ voices. Powered by a modern control system, it performs lively marches, lilting waltzes, and popular tunes with the sound and character of a classic carousel organ. The JLBO combines craftsmanship, motion, and music to create an engaging, hands-on experience for audiences of all ages.
Originally called "Clark's Organ," the Judith Lynn was built by Clark Haynam and later named after his late wife. It took him over a decade to build the band organ, which involved a lot of trial and error because he handmade several of the 165 pipes. Through all of Clark's effort and passion, the JLBO became the mechanical, musical marvel it is today. He shared the joy of the band organ for 15 years, entertaining crowds at fairs, festivals, parties, and other events.
In 2020, Clark made the decision to retire from his ownership of the band organ and sold it to Dale Smith, also known as Mr. D. The JLBO is now operated as a feature in HTC Productions, Mr. D's family business. All of the Smith family members play a role in maintaining and advancing band organ operations in an effort to honor Clark's cleverness, celebrate the memory of Judith Lynn, and enjoy music!
